How to find strength in your network!

The first BLCCA online Academy proved to be a huge success. In number of participants, in connections made, in experiences shared, in lessons learnt.

The current pandemic turned our annual BLCCA Academy in Brussels into a virtual one. We had to shorten the programme to take into account the different time zones of our Chambers. But, at the same time, the event became accessible to everybody. Travel budgets and time constraints were indeed no longer an obstacle: a first valuable lesson learnt from the pandemic!

Many more valuable lessons and good practices were given on day one by several Chambers, during a workshop on membership relations. Marc Mestdagh, founder of BSAE, spiced up the workshop with insights on new trends in association management. “Let members come for the me, but make sure they stay for the we!” sums exactly up what’s the challenge for Chambers.

The second day was dedicated to individual meetings between participants. 12 Belgian and Luxembourg Chambers and 18 Chambers abroad met during 7 minutes sessions. In total, 216 contacts were made in just 2 very high-paced hours.

Feedback from participants was unanimous: it was an ideal formula to get to know everybody in just a few minutes. And with the contact details of each participants in hand, there’s plenty of time to catch up afterwards!
