Digital certificates are used in many electronic applications that attach importance to authenticity, integrity and non-repudiation. Examples include the online filing of annual accounts with the Central Balance Sheet Office, the compulsory electronic declaration of withholding tax and filing of VAT returns, DIMONA, the electronic customs declaration in the context of PLDA, etc.
