Strengthening our international trade
our priorities for the Government
The COVID-19 pandemic has severely weakened the Belgian economy, and the restrictions imposed by various governments over the past year have only made international trade more difficult, even within a unified Europe. Many voices are calling for the revision of international production chains and their relocation to nearby places to better protect “strategic” sectors. International confidence has completely dissolved. For Belgium, which has only a small internal market and for whom international trade is of vital importance, this is a difficult period that could damage its future. Supporting SMEs in their international trade transactions is therefore of crucial importance.
Our priorities for the Belgian government are currently only available in Dutch and French.
