Bilateral chamber in Morocco calls for a win-win in the EU Talent Partnerships

Naïm Bentaleb, founder of the recruitment and HR-consulting agency Xpertize Africa and board member of the bilateral chamber Morocco, participated in January through EUROCHAMRBRES in a panel organised by the Migration Partnership Facility to discuss the Talent Partnerships that the European Union is setting up with specific partner countries including Morocco.

Talent Partnerships

These partnerships enable employees and students from these countries to study or work in the European Union, investing at the same time in the labour market, vocational education and the integration of returning migrants.

From his experience with the Moroccan labour market, Naïm Bentaleb emphasised the importance of a win-win situation, where the focus is not on brain drain in high-demand sectors but where opportunities are also created. For example, companies in the aeronautical sector are setting up training centres in Morocco from which they can recruit directly.

  • The private and public sectors can improve collaboration by taking complementary roles
  • The private sector has a fundamental role to play in skills development
  • Partnerships with the private sector should also aim to encourage investments and business linkages in sending countries
  • Talent Partnerships can help unlock foreign direct investment in partner African countries
