De raad van bestuur heeft beslist om Tom Laveren te benoemen tot de nieuwe gedelegeerd bestuurder van Voka – Kamer van Koophandel Mechelen-Kempen. Hij volgt Renilde Craps op. Tom wil vooral de lokale werking verder uitbouwen om meer ondernemers te bereiken. “Méér leden moeten ook de meerwaarde van Voka ervaren.”

Volgens een enquête die in 2018 gehouden werd klaagt 89% van de deelnemende werkgevers in Oost-België dat ze geen gekwalificeerd personeel kunnen vinden. Dit tekort aan geschoolde arbeidskrachten in Oost-België treft vooral werkgevers in het zuidelijke deel van de Duitstalige Gemeenschap.
Om deze leemte op te vullen hebben het Arbeidsbureau, het Instituut voor onderwijs en opleiding, de economische ontwikkelingsmaatschappij voor Oost-België, de Sociaal-Economische Raad, de Industrie- und Handelskammer (IHK) en de Duitstalige staat hun krachten gebundeld en de “Alliantie voor het gebrek aan gekwalificeerde arbeiders” opgericht. De heer Volker Klinges, directeur van de IHK, werd verkozen tot voorzitter van deze alliantie.
Deze alliantie heeft tot doel aanvullende acties te initiëren en uit te voeren om de tewerkstelling van gekwalificeerde arbeidskrachten in Oost-België te verzekeren. Het concrete doel is dan ook om jongeren meer bewust te maken van de loopbaanperspectieven in de regio, de beroepsopleiding en bij- en nascholing te verbeteren, migranten in het beroepsleven te integreren en ook de informatieverstrekking aan en de bijstand aan immigranten te consolideren.

The Chamber of Commerce Hainaut has initiated a pilot project with ten companies to join the project called “Coup de poing pénuries”. On 15 February, during a press conference organised by CCI Hainaut in Charleroi, agreements have been signed between the companies and Forem to welcome twelve trainees in carpentry, a sector in need of qualified manpower.

(NL) Tot nu toe werd een ATA-carnet enkel aanvaard voor beurzen en tentoonstellingen. Beroepsmateriaal en handelsmonsters kunnen nu ook tijdelijk ingevoerd worden in China onder ATA-carnet. De invoer is niet langer beperkt tot 6 maanden. De uiterste wederuitvoerdatum van goederen onder dekking van een ATA-carnet is nu de vervaldag van het carnet.

ARCHIPELAGO is an inclusive economic development programme run by CPCCAF, EUROCHAMBRES and sequa, with financial support from the European Commission in the framework of the Emergency Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF). The programme aims at increasing the employability of young people and vulnerable groups in society by raising their technical and entrepreneurial skills. The programme will cover 12 African countries in the Sahel and the Chad Lake region.
ARCHIPELAGO is an initiative of CPCCAF, EUROCHAMBRES and sequa, with financial support from the European Commission in the framework of the Emergency Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF). The programme aims to improve the technical skills of young people and vulnerable groups in society and will also work on strengthening entrepreneurship competences in 12 African countries in the Sahel and the Chad Lake region.
In order to strengthen the ARCHIPELAGO management unit in Brussels, the initiators are still looking for a vocational training expert (TVET) and a financial-administrative assistant. More details can be found here.
Philippe Suinen, President of the Chambres de Commerce de Wallonie, was re-elected as a member of the Bureau of the Conférence Permanente des Chambres Consulaires Africaines et Francophones (CPCCAF).
The CPCCAF is the network of French-speaking Chambers in Europe and Africa that cooperate to develop the African private sector and to strengthen economic and commercial ties between the two continents.
Moreover, the ARCHIPELAGO project was launched in Dakar.
